Feng shui is the science of understanding the changing effect of energy or Chi of a place with regards to time, space and direction. This can be any place like office, individual house, apartment or factory etc. Feng shui is based on Chinese astrology and originated from China. Feng and shui means Wind and Water. Like we have day and night, energy too has different phases like strong and weak or good and bad or Yang and yin respectively.

Feng shui teaches us to how to utilize the sectors of a home or office which has good or yang energy and avoid the bad or Yin energy. Feng shui is also called as the art of placement. Here the correct placement of furniture in a home or office which allows the Chi to settle down without blocking its path and facilitating an easy flow and distribution of energy throughout the house or office brings in prosperity, good luck and abundance inside the living space.

As we have eight directions, a floor plan can be divided into nine squares including center, which is not related to any of the direction (3 x 3). Here we have eight directional squares around the center square and each square we call it a sector. Each sector has stars, which represent good or bad Chi or energy. Here Feng shui calculations tell us which sector should be used more and which ones should be avoided or left inactive.

Each directional sector has it own element like "Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water". Colors help to enhance these directional elements and even mirrors play an important role in reflecting and distributing energy throughout the house or office. Products like crystals, wind chime, water fountain, plants also help in enhancing the elements of the sectors. The right use of Feng shui brings in money luck, prosperity, abundance and good health. Improper placement of furniture or clutter blocks the movement of Chi into the house or office.

Most important is never have the entrance cluttered, always have it clear and more open without any furniture at the entrance point so as to allow the energy to settle down and then allow an easy distribution into the house or office. Have more light and air flow in, keep the window glasses clean. Never have dark corners which makes the Chi stagnant. The more you understand the subject Feng shui and more you utilize it your daily life, then more money luck, health luck, and prosperity improves thus bringing balance, peace and harmony into your life.
